Missed our Cost of Living shop? Good news, it's returning to Hallam's pop-up shop on Howard Street (next to Howst) from 5-9 February, 10am-4pm. Make sure you pop in to browse our Clothing Swap Shop, Book Swap, Community Fridge, and more!
Our Cost of Living shop will reopen at the HUBS from Monday 12 February. We aim to open Monday to Friday, 2pm-6pm; exact opening times will be published on our social channels each week.
Our Clothing Swap gives you the chance to get an entire new wardrobe for free, simply by donating clean, wearable items in return. Similarly for the Book Swap, you can donate a book and take a new one away with you, or just pop in and have a read of one from our bookcase.
The Community Fridge aims to reduce food waste and provide students with free food. We do this by collecting surplus food from businesses across the City and redistributing it to students at the end of each day. We're currently receiving donations from the University's catering outlets at 4pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, and are working hard to secure new donors for this semester.
During Semester 1, we helped students swap a huge 206 items of clothing, and the Community Fridge saved 16kg of food from landfill and saved students a total of £197 across 59 individual items!
