The recent earthquake in Myanmar has caused significant devastation, impacting communities, infrastructure, and educational institutions. Our thoughts are with all those affected, particularly our students whose lives have been disrupted by this disaster.
Support for affected students
If you 've been directly or indirectly impacted by the earthquake, or if someone you know has been affected, we encourage you to seek help through the following channels:
- SU Advice can advise you if your funding situation or your ability to fulfil academic commitments has been impacted.
- Sheffield Hallam University provide wellbeing support if you would like to talk to someone about how you are feeling.
- It is a good idea for you to talk with your Student Support Adviser if you've been impacted in any way.
- Sheffield Hallam University Multi-Faith Chaplaincy has opened up extra slots to prioritise students impacted by these events. Riley, Hallam's International Chaplain, can be contacted at chaplaincy@shu.ac.uk. The Chaplaincy are supportive of all Hallam students, religious or not.
