About us

Welcome to Artistic Allies Society

Whether you're arty, in need of decorating your uni room with crafty decor or just want some escapism from academia. This is a society for you!

We lead arts & craft sessions every week in a relaxed and sociable space. We plan to do pottery, glass painting, hama bead coasters and photography to name a few, plus themed sessions around Halloween, Christmas, Valentines and Easter! Participating in planned activities is completely optional. Feel free to bring or suggest any creative endeavors you enjoy.

This society is for everyone Hallam students, uni of students, non-students, partners and friends.

Weekly sessions:

These are our relaxed meet ups at two different locations a week for accessibility. In these sessions we have a new arts and craft activity each week (same activity on Wednesdays and Fridays). Making this a society you can have a creative outlet and a comfortable space to make friends.

The society is now on every week until the Christmas holidays. Our last sessions before Christmas will be Wednesday 11th of December followed by Friday 13th. 🎄

Then we will start back in 2025 on Wednesday 22nd of January followed by Friday 24th.

☆ ARTISTIC ALLIES X KLYN COLLAB ☆

We are happily announcing a collaboration with the Knit Like Your Nana society, the sessions will spread across the last two weeks until the Christmas holidays!!🎄

In these sessions, you get to choose knitting a scrunchie or a drawstring pouch! You can either do one on Tuesday and the other on Friday. Or you can continue your project throughout the weeks.

You are welcome to do your own knitting/crocheting projects or if you don't feel like doing these activities you are free to chill and relax with the members.

Feel free to bring your own materials but the KLYN society is very generous to provide the supplies for you to use.

☆ This craft session will be on Tuesday 3rd of December 6-8:30 PM at HubSpace upstairs in the Student Union

Socials:

Alongside our weekly sessions we will form friendships and strengthen our teamwork by participating in socials!

Socials may include, going to an animal sanctuary, roller blading, cafe trips, paintball, walks, cinema viewings and much more! Suggestions encouraged.

These may occassionally be on Fridays after the regular session (6-8 at City campus) and weekends.

In 2023 we collectively created an Autumn (maga)zine which we sold around Sheffield followed by a digital zine for Christmas. If this is something you are interested in, let us know and we can run a zine making workshop.
