We are the SHU Yoga Society, we run yoga classes every week at The Hubs, so students and staff can get the time to relax and unwind. We have been running for 4 years now, and we want this year to be the best one yet!
Our yoga classes are run by qualified yoga teacher, Lucy Flower and Lucy Cunningham ( our social secretary)
We will run 2-3 events each week: yoga classes and a social.
Each yoga class will cost a reduced price for students and staff at £4 for members of the yoga society and £6 for non-members. This price helps pay our lovely yoga teachers, and also lets you have a relaxing hour of yoga.
Monday 12-1pm: Yoga
Thursday 3:30-4:30pm: Pilates
An additional Yoga evening class will be added shortly.
Yoga mat - if you don’t have a mat, we have a limited amount to hire, but we suggest bringing your own.
Water - Stay hydrated!
Something comfortable that you can move around in! - We suggest leggings, gym wear, comfy T-shirt etc..
We advise to be barefoot whilst practicing yoga, as this gives you a better grip on the mat. However if you prefer to keep your toes covered we suggest wearing socks with some grip! Please do not wear shoes on the hired mats as everyone has to use these!
Once a week we will have more of a social get together for members to make friends and take time away from work. These socials could include meditation, colouring, crafts, visiting nearby parks or cafes.
