SHASBAH Photographer

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

Event photographer for charity events, outings and activities.

Our events are a great chance to bring our community together in family friendly events. Allowing members to socialise, exchange information and advice and meet people with similar experiences in an accessible and inclusive environment.

Volunteers will gain experience working as a team with a range of people with different neurological needs. Volunteers will gain experience on making events accessible and inclusive to all.

 

Overview of Project

Sheffield Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SHASBAH) are a disability community supporting people throughout their lives with a wide range of challenges that these conditions can cause. They support through advice and signposting, small financial grants for equipment, hospital visiting support and social activities and events. The extra challenges our membership face can be isolating and feel overwhelming. By bringing everyone together as a community our project aims to build confidence in our members abilities and successes and allow people to share knowledge while building friendships and support networks. Our large events build on regular meet ups. It is a chance to celebrate and enjoy our local outdoor spaces.

This Role Involves

Photographing our events and members. Working with staff to create inclusive and accessible events for our members.

Location

Sheffield and South Yorkshire

Skills/Experience Required

Photography experience preferred. Friendliness, enthusiasm and patience required.

Benefits to Others

By capturing our events and members we are able to reflect on our activities. We are able to see our successes and our community grow as well as provide vital evidence to our funders. By volunteering with us we are able to use staff time to support members on the day.

Benefits to the Volunteer

Gain photography experience. Work with people with a diverse group of people. Build confidence and communication skills.

Role Duration

Events and activities are between 2 and 6 hours long.
