Top Tips for Providers:
When creating an opportunity, it’s important to make the title easy to understand. When it is not immediately clear what the role entails, it can make students look past your opportunity. Try to keep it simple and use language that can be understood by everyone and avoid using industry-specific terms.
We often receive emails from students enquiring about volunteering opportunities relating to specific courses. If you think your opportunity could relate to a course, it is a good idea to include this in your description and explain how it would be beneficial for people studying that subject. Make the link between your volunteering opportunity and the course explicit, as this can help us advertise it to specific courses and groups.
Students always respond well to one-off (Give It A Go!) events. It could be useful to set up some opportunities that are similar to your long-term roles but only require one day of commitment. This way, students can understand what the role entails before they agree to a long-term commitment. Make it clear to students that the one-off opportunity is a taste of what you offer and that longer roles are also available with you.
